What is a number picker wheel?
A number picker wheel is a spinning wheel where every slice is a number. You set the range, spin, and the number under the flapper is your random pick. It does the same job as a random number generator, but everyone can watch the result happen, which makes it fairer and more fun for class, games and draws.
Each number gets an equal slice, so each has the same chance: 1 in 10 on a 1–10 wheel, 1 in 100 on a 1–100 wheel. The pick is made with your browser’s cryptographic random generator, not by the speed of your spin.
How to use the spin wheel number picker
Type a From and To value and press Build. Step sets the gap between numbers: step 5 from 0 to 100 gives 0, 5, 10 … 100, and step 0.5 gives halves. A single wheel can carry as many as 1,000 numbers.
Or use a preset: a six-sided die, a d20 for tabletop games, 1–50, 1–100, the full 1–1000 (the wheel’s maximum, with labels too small to read, but the result card shows the number), or a 75-ball bingo caller with B-I-N-G-O letters.
Calling numbers without repeats
For bingo, raffle tickets or seat numbers, open Options and choose Elimination. Each called number sits out, the chips show which are already called, and the History tab keeps the calling order with times, so you can check a winning card against it.
To add or remove a single number, use the chips: tap a number to sit it out (an unsold ticket, for example) or type extra values in the box.
Odds on a number wheel
| Wheel | Chance of any one number |
|---|---|
| Dice 1–6 | 1 in 6 (16.7%) |
| 1–10 | 1 in 10 (10%) |
| d20 | 1 in 20 (5%) |
| 1–100 | 1 in 100 (1%) |
| Bingo, 40 balls already called | 1 in 35 for each remaining ball |
Not just numbers
Need letters instead? The letter spinner does A–Z with sets made for word games.
Number wheel or random number generator?
Both pick fairly. A plain generator is faster for one hidden number. A number wheel is better when people are watching, because everyone sees the range on the wheel and the result happen. That’s why it works for bingo calls, raffle tickets, classroom questions and game turns.
More ways to use a number wheel
- Lost the dice: the 1–6 preset is a fair die for any board game, and you can spin twice for two dice.
- Classroom questions: number the worksheet questions and spin which one the class answers next.
- Seating and turns: spin seat numbers, table numbers or the order of presentations.
- Reading challenge: set the range to the pages in a book and read whichever page comes up.
- Raffle tickets: set the range to the ticket numbers you sold and use elimination for multiple prizes.
Questions people ask
How does a spin wheel number generator work?
You choose a range, the wheel shows one slice per number, and a spin picks one at random with equal odds. The result is drawn by your browser’s crypto random generator the moment you spin.
How do I pick a random number between 1 and 100?
Click the 1–100 preset, or set From 1 and To 100 and press Build, then spin. Each number has a 1% chance.
Can the number wheel skip numbers already picked?
Yes. In Options, set “After each spin” to Elimination. Every called number is then set aside, and Everyone back returns the full range.
Can I use decimals or negative numbers?
Yes. From and To can be negative, and Step can be a decimal such as 0.25.
