Safety and privacy
Is SpinnWheel safe to use? Yes. There are no accounts, no downloads and no pop-ups, and the site is served over HTTPS. Everything you type stays in your own browser. We don’t receive your lists, names or results.
Is it safe for kids and schools? Students don’t need to sign up or give any personal information. Teachers can use initials or numbers instead of full names if their school prefers. See the privacy page for the details.
Fairness
Is the wheel rigged? No. A pick is made by the browser’s security-grade random function as soon as you press Spin, and the animation simply travels to that pick. There’s no hidden setting to force a result.
Can I make one option more likely? Only in plain sight. With weighted entries on, Name x3 makes that slice three times wider, so anyone watching can see the odds.
Why did the same thing win twice in a row? Because each spin is independent. On an eight-slice wheel, the same slice comes up twice in a row 1 time in 8. Streaks feel suspicious, but they’re normal. Use elimination mode if you need no repeats.
Saving, sharing and moving wheels
How do I save my wheel? You don’t have to do anything: each page saves its list, options and log in this browser automatically. Clearing your browser data or using a private window erases it.
How do I share a wheel? Press the link button under the wheel. The link contains your whole list, title, colors and weights, so whoever opens it gets an exact copy. Their changes don’t affect yours.
How do I keep several wheels? Every page remembers its own list, and you can keep a share link for each wheel, such as one per class period, in your bookmarks or notes.
Using it in class, on Zoom and on stream
Projector or smartboard: press the full-screen button. The wheel fills the screen and tapping it spins.
Zoom, Google Meet, Teams: share the browser tab (not your whole screen) and turn on “share tab audio” so people hear the clicks.
Twitch, YouTube, OBS: add a Window Capture or Browser Source of the full-screen wheel. The dark theme looks clean on stream.
PowerPoint or Google Slides: link a slide button to your wheel’s share link. It opens in the browser with your list loaded.
Devices and offline use
SpinnWheel works on phones, tablets, Chromebooks, Mac, Windows and Linux in any current browser. After your first visit it keeps working without internet, and it can live on your home screen or dock like any other app, installed straight from the browser.
